Which brush size should my child start with?
The medium sizes are the easiest to begin with, since they hold plenty of paint and still give reasonable control. Once children are comfortable, the larger brushes are lovely for backgrounds and skies, and the finest ones come into their own for details like faces, flowers, and lettering.
How do I care for the brushes?
Rinse them in warm water straight after painting and gently reshape the bristles with your fingers, then stand or lay them flat to dry — never bristles-down in a jar, as that bends them permanently. A quick rinse each time keeps the shape crisp for years of painting.
