Are the pieces sturdy enough for young children?
They are. At 8mm thick they look slim, but they're cut from birch plywood, which is layered for strength and far tougher than solid wood of the same thickness. They handle everyday building, leaning, and toppling well — though like any wooden toy, they're happiest kept dry and not stood on.
