Pumpkin and spice, all thirty-six of them! These little wooden pumpkins come in three different dilutions of the same warm shade, from deep and rich right through to soft and pale — the exact colours of a pumpkin patch in late October.
At 40mm they're the chunkiest pieces in the mandala family, substantial enough to feel satisfying in a small hand. Children arrange them into spiralling patterns, sort them by depth of colour, fill a wooden truck with a harvest load, or scatter them through an autumn small world alongside acorns and leaves.
Each piece is hand-dyed rather than painted, so the colour soaks deep into the wood and the grain shows through. Those three tones are what makes the set — line them up light to dark and there's a whole gradient to play with.

How do you use mandala pieces with three colour tones?
The variation is the invitation. Children naturally start sorting light to dark, which is early pattern and sequencing work, then build mandalas with the deepest shade at the centre and paler tones radiating outward. It gives structure to the arranging without anyone setting a task.
