Let it rain! These little wooden raindrops come in three shades of blue, ready to scatter across a rainy-day scene, fall from a paper cloud, fill a puddle, or gather into a river winding across the floor.
The teardrop shape is what gives them their character — it points, it flows, and it sits differently from a round or flat piece, which makes it lovely for petals radiating out from the centre of a mandala or scales along the back of a wooden dragon. Thirty-six pieces is plenty for a proper downpour, and the three tones let children sort them light to dark or build a gradient outward.
Each piece is hand-dyed rather than painted, so the blue soaks into the wood and the grain still shows. Small differences in shade come with the territory when things are finished by hand.
